The project concerns the changes in the timetables of Finnish elementary and secondary schools.Techers both in elementary and secondary schools have, as a consequence of the process of decentralization, more power to decide not only on the curricular text, but also on the use of time for different school-subjects during different grades.A new school based curricular system was launched in 1994.The aim of the project is to make a survey of to what extent and in what ways schools are using their new possibilities to make locally adapted timetables identify didactical and practical arguments schools are using for chosen timetable solutions and analyze the local process of decision making.
